Grass Genetics
Bulls-Heifers-Steers
Our cattle herd has been a closed herd for over 30 years, carefully developed for performance and longevity in a low-input, pasture-based system. Our grass-based genetics are built on a foundation of Red Angus, Hereford, and Barzona cattle. We have worked closely with Steve Campbell and the late Gerald Fry, two pioneers in grass-based genetics, to refine cattle that thrive on forage alone.
We are a founding member of the Green Hills Farm Project and have partnered with the program for over 40 years.
Bulls
We select bulls for tenderness, early maturity, and the ability to flesh and finish efficiently on grass.
Heifers
Our heifer selection emphasizes calving ease, sound udders, early shedding, and a docile, manageable temperament.
